Cantine Lenotti

The Valpolicella zone is bordered to the west by the Bardolino DOC, located along the banks of Lake Garda, which produces similar wines to basic Valpolicella using many of the same grapes. Chateau Cheval Blanc, 1974

St Emilion Premiere Grand Cru Classe

** 90 points - cellar tracker.com ***

Reviews
"Nose retained some black fruit, healthy and concentrated. In the mouth it was exquisite, a fine mature Bordeaux with sweetness, lenght, concentration and good length. Thorougly enjoyable and not tired in the least!" Cellar tracker.com

Deep mature colour.
Amazingly good nose. Stables, leather, smoke, salt/mineral, cassis, tobacco and pencil/graphite.

Stringent, lots of tannins, but still fruit that stand up to the tannins.
On the palate this wine offers leather, coffee, tobacco, meat and blood.
Quite light body, but very nice mouthfill and the finish is quite long - 25 to 30 sec.

Dolcetto, 1974

Cantina Sassone - Riserva

A native black grape variety of Northern Italy grown almost exclusively in the provinces of Cuneo and Alessandria in Piedmont. It is relatively easy to cultivate, although it is susceptible to fungal diseases. It ripens before Barbera and Nebbiolo and is often grown in high north-facing sites which would be unsuitable for Nebbiolo. The finest Dolcetto wines come from grapes grown on soils rich with white marls, especially those found on the right bank of the River Tauro. The wines generally are low in tannins and acidity and are usually fruity and fragrant, often with hints of almonds.
